Product Description
7‐Aminoactinomycin D (7‐AAD) is a DNA binding dye which can only penetrate dead or damaged cells, while it is excluded from cells having an intact membrane. Thus, it is used to include only alive cells (7-AAD negative) into Flow cytometry data analysis. 5μl of this product is sufficient for staining of 1 million cells in a 100μl staining volume or 100μl of whole blood. Add 5ul to a sample of antibody stained cells, incubate for 5 minutes on ice (protect from light) and run samples in Flow cytometer instrument. Discrimination between viable and non-viable cells is carried out through gating in the appropriate Fluorescence channel (Ex./Em. 550nm/648nm). To achieve reliable results, incubation of cells with 7-AAD for a prolonged time (>60 minutes) should be avoided.
