Product Description
This antibody reacts with human beta Amyloid (1-40). No significant cross-reactivity to beta Amyloid (1-42) has been observed. Previous lots have shown no cross-reactivity against beta Amyloid (1-43). The antibody has been used in ELISA. Previous lots of this antibody have been used in dot blots, RIA, and other related assays. Beta-amyloid is a 40–43 amino acid peptide cleaved from amyloid precursor protein, and a putative gamma-secretase. Amyloid beta (1-40) together with Amyloid beta (1-42) are two major C-terminal variants of the amyloid beta protein, constituting the majority of amyloid beta proteins. Both the amyloid beta (40) and amyloid beta (42) alloforms are major components of the extracellular plaques found in Alzheimer's disease brain tissue.
