Specificity: ABS 046-03-02 binds GLP-1 (1-37), GLP-1 (7-37) and GLP-1 (9-37). This antibody shows 0-16% cross-Specificity with C-terminally amidated GLP-1 in various circumstances. Reactivity: ABS 046-03-02 binds free GLP-1 (1-37), GLP-1 (7-37) and GLP-1 (9-37) in solution. Two different ELISA sandwich setups can be used for measuring non-amidated GLP-1 forms: The first uses ABS 046-03 as a capture antibody with biotinylated detection antibody ABS 033-10-02. This shows ~5% cross-reactivity with C-terminally amidated GLP-1. The second combination uses HYB 147-12 as a capture antibody with biotinylated detection antibody ABS 046-03-02, resulting in ~16% cross-reactivity with C-terminally amidated GLP-1. Results show detection limits of 44 pmol/L which is 10-20 times higher than the basal concentration of GLP-1, so the assays have to be optimized.
