This product is a low-endotoxin, preservative-free formulation. For FACS analysis, use 10 µL of the suggested working dilution to label 1x10^6 cells in 100 µL. A suggested positive control for immunohistochemical applications is tonsil. For cytotoxic assays, use human serum as a complement source. Rat anti Human CD52 antibody, clone YTH34.5 reacts with the human CD52 antigen, also known as CAMPATH-1. Human CD52, also known as Cambridge pathology antigen 1 (CAMPATH-1), is a glycoprotein found in the male reproductive tract and immune cells. It is abundantly expressed on the surface of nearly all human peripheral blood lymphocytes. The CD52 antigen is GPI-anchored membrane receptor that consists of a small 12 amino acid peptide attached to a large N-linked carbohydrate group. CD52 is a potent target for inducing cytolysis of mature lymphocytes. Alemtuzumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody targeting CD52, is used as an immunomodulatory drug for the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia, T cell lymphomas, multiple sclerosis, and other diseases.
