Product Description

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning in the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Then, individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production. The advantages of using recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies include: better specificity and sensitivity, lot-to-lot consistency, animal origin-free formulations, and broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire. ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter genes are involved in the regulation of the amount of dietary cholesterol retained in the body. The ABC transporter ABCG1 (ABC8) is expressed on the cell surface and in intracellular compartments of cholesterol-laden macrophages and is induced in monocyte-derived macrophages during cholesterol influx mediated by acetylated low-density lipoprotein. In contrast, lipid efflux in cholesterol-laden macrophages, mediated by the cholesterol acceptor HDL(3), suppresses the expression of ABCG1.
