Product Description

The 5H10 monoclonal antibody (mAb) recognizes the mouse CD8a chain (Ly-2). Antibodies specific for CD8a rather than CD8b are recommended for a rigorous delineation of CD8 positive T cells. The 5H10 mAb has been used in other labs for flow cytometry and inhibition of T cell responses to IL-21. Each lot is tested by flow cytometry using freshly harvested mouse splenocytes. For PE-Texas Red conjugates: excitation 488 nm/peak emission 615 nm. Use dim light during handling, incubation with cells, and prior to analysis. It is recommended that cells be analyzed within 18 hours of staining. If the reagent is being diluted, it is recommended that only the quantity to be used within one week be diluted. Cluster of differentiation 8 (CD8), a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin family of receptors, plays an integral role in signal transduction, and T cell differentiation and activation. CD8 is predominantly expressed on T cells as a disulfide-linked heterodimer of CD8alpha and CD8beta, where it functions as a co-receptor, along with T cell receptor (TCR), for major histocompatibilty complex class I (MHC-I) molecules; whereas its counterpart, CD4, acts as a co-receptor for MHC-II molecules. CD8 exists on the cell surface, where the CD8alpha chain is essent
