Product Description

PEP-011 is a 16 amino acid (amino acids 55-70) synthetic peptide whose sequence is from the N-terminal end of the human estrogen receptor b (ERb). The sequence of this peptide is (amino to carboxy terminus): A-E-P-Q-K-S-P-W-C-E-A-R-S-L-E-H This peptide may be used for neutralization and control experiments with the polyclonal antibody that reacts with this product and the ERb, catalog # PA1-311. Using a solution with equal weights per unit volume of peptide and corresponding antibody will yield a solution with a large molar excess of peptide that is able to competitively bind the antibody. Reconstitute with 0.1 mL of distilled water. Estrogen Receptor beta (ER beta, NR3A2) protein is approximately 55kD, though multiple isoforms ranging from 36-59kD have been described. Human ER beta was initially cloned and characterized from testis. Estrogen Receptors (ER) are members of the steroid/thyroid hormone receptor superfamily of nuclear receptors. The estrogen receptor is a ligand-activated transcription factor, that when bound to estrogen hormone, induces a conformational change that allows dimerization and binding to estrogen response elements (ERE) in DNA. When bound to EREs, ER can positively or negatively regulate gene transcription through the recruitment of coac
